A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Reading of the Minutes for July 2006 – Chairman Vitale called for a
reading of the minutes from the July meeting. Commissioner Lydon made a
motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney.
Motion passed unanimously.
2. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman Vitale called for a reading of
the financial report. Commissioner White presented the financial report for
July 2006. Commissioner Duval made a motion to accept the financial
report subject to audit, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion
passed unanimously.
3. Chairman’s Report – Chairman Vitale updated the commission on the
following:

Release of Hangar #4 escrow money

Notice to Proceed date for RW 34 project

Recent Danvers Selectman’s meeting

Proposed Wenham tree removals

Grant applications for ramp and parking lot lighting and fencing

Town of Danvers search for an Airport Commission representative

Upcoming Collings Foundation visit on September 22-24, 2006

Waiver of Barracks Building 10% sublet fee to BAC effective
September 1, 2006 until further notice

Edwards & Kelcey – Updated the commission on the Notice of
Proposed Rule Making for TERPS Part 77, stressing the need to
address the RW 27 off-airport tree obstructions. Commissioner
Dettorre will do a plan and present it to the neighbors.

Pierre Eberhart, Wenham Tree Warden – Mr. Eberhart discussed the
potential of tree plantings to block glare from MALS.
B. OLD BUSINESS
1. Subcommittee Reports:

Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Vice Chairman Mahoney
updated the commission on the City/BAC Evaluation Committee
results from the non-aviation use parcel RFP, results of the Hangar #4
interest meeting, and an August 21, 2006 meeting to be held with
Richard Chase.

Public Relations Subcommittee – Commissioner Nelson updated the
commission on the proposed RW 34 public meeting to be held at
Danvers Town Hall on August 23, 2006.

Facility Maintenance Subcommittee – Commissioner Forgione updated
the commission on the appearance of Hangar #2, Hangar #3, and the
Barracks Building.

Hangar Development/Off-Airport Obstructions – Commissioner
Dettorre updated the commission on a recent tree obstruction survey.
BAC discussed 1,000-foot primary surface versus 500-foot primary
surface. BAC consensus is to go to a 1,000-foot primary surface.
Airport Manager to check on impacts of 1,000-foot primary.

Airport Support Group – No report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT
Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the commission on the traffic count, landing
fee revenue, airport maintenance, FAA proposed rule making, stop signs, parking
lot seal coating, Cutler Hangar CPI, RW 34 construction project, sign changes,
airport website updates, and a noise meeting.

D. NEW BUSINESS

Proposed Airport Rules and Regulations to be sent to FAA and M.A.C. for
review.
E. COMMISSION COMMENTS

Commissioners Lydon and Forgione will conduct spot checks of excessive
chemical storage in Coastal Pool vehicles.
