George questioned the methodology and the location of
planting.
Peter- What will prevent this area (4000) from becoming a
dumping ground in the future?
Lelito- now that it's sub divided, the peoplle living there
will also be maintaining the area.
Chairman stated Lots 7 and 8 are over -lapping lot 9.

The new buffer zone is not shown on the latest plan. Also
expressed concern re:ramification when he wants to build a
garage in a year or two.
Renee Mary 274 Hale St. Expressed environmental concerns
for Beverly. (although not living in the area)
Roger Smith 49 Thissell St. Cannot remove an environmental
system successfully
Nancy-Doesn't like a replication from one lot to another.
Lelito made comments before the closing Re: the order of
conditions- items could be added in, such as dumping,
growth of the vegetation and the maintenance.

filled now by eliminated, due to the fact that additional
land h3S since been acquired. (adjacent).
Peter would like to see a clearer land a better plan (not a
sketch as submitted)

Peter is reluctant to close the hearing before viewing the
plan to be submitted.

Explained in detail the proposal of the project re: the
Notice of Intent. The reconstruction and site cleanup.
Jim Wheeler from Haley and Aldrich, Inc.explained the
process and the contents of the project.
Trenches will be excavated on the site.
Clear crushed stone to be used for the bulkhead.
68 timber piles to be removed. The piles are a threat
navigation.
Piles will be stocked off-site.

The concrete buildingds will be demolished from a land side
area. All stacked in an upland location.
Chapter 21-E Site remediation. Completion of test borings
and test pits.
No significant ground pollution on site. When the
remediation activity begins, DEQE will be motified when
project begins. Permits from the Fire Department will be
obtc"ili ned.

Bill -Hazardous materials?
Answered-Aged materials products, not exactly a hazard.
Joe- Referred to the oil tanks on the site?
answered-No oil in them.
George -Questioned the 21 year report?
answered-Yes, is in existance.
George- The commission should see the 21-E report Iresults
and conclus.icms
Peter question are all projects inter-related?
answer-In order to get at the contaminated soils all the
buildings have to be demolished. All the existing materials
there now, wash out the the tides. Intergrate into one
clean-up. Water will leak out with tides, as the steel
structure is not water tight.
Peter would like to hear from the Health Department, re:
Contaminated soils.
A very significant project.

Winthrop's Grant Report for the Gulf of Maine Research.
Greg Andrew- Sanford Ecological Survey Report to be
submitted to the commission in writing.
Ron Trentine, developer stating he took all the precautions
necessary.
Stones all removed -hay bales replaced. Decision by next
meeting.
Winthrop's Grant -If they decide to replicated and go with
Sanford, before we make our decision and it's not correct,
we will then rebuke it and have them go along with whatever
choice is made by our commission. (only work in paper).
If they continue to build the roadway, will have to
replicate more (refile?)
Regulations do not recognize soils. (Gulf of Maine)
Sanford-less states replication than Gulf of Maine. *could
rebutt)
