Susan called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m.
SECRETARY'S REPORT:
The minutes from the December 4, 2001 meeting were approved, dispensed with
reading of the minutes (Bob with motion, Cynthia with second)
DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Leslee reported on building usage and provided an updated financial statement and
statistical report. Leslee reported that the Council has been awarded two new vehicles
from the federal grant earmarked by John Tierney. We will need to come up with the
20% match. The parking lot across the street will be completed in the Spring. Mary
Dionne's (fiscal clerk) husband passed away. Leslee asked the Board if copying all of
the Beano reports was necessary. The Board agreed that only the last week of the
month needed to be copied.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: The Friends did not meet in December.
LEGISLATIVE REPORT:
Leslee reported that the councils on aging received level funding. MCOA is warning the
councils that FY 02-03 could be very tight at both the state and local levels.
OLD BUSINESS:
Committee Assianments: The Board Development and Financial committees will meet
at the senior center on January 30th from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS:
SeniorCare Representation on the BOD: held over for February meeting due to lack of
time.
Beano: Bob and Leslee reported that Beano was cancelled for the past two weeks
because Peter was ill. This brought up the fact that Peter needs back up help. The
gravity of the situation was conveyed. Please, if you can help, or you know someone
who can, please see Peter, Bob, or Leslee.
