1987-05-18 Minutes Beverly Public Library Building Commission May 18, 1987 7:00 PM Present: Jack Coogan, Neil Olson, John Quinn. Also present: Tom Scully, Sheila Glowacki, Nancy Bender, Diane Costa, John and Vada Komich. Neil Olson presided. John Quinn moved that the minutes of the February 2, 1987 meeting be amended to reflect the vote of the Commission to retain Neiley and Associates to conduct a certification review of the Tappe study. Seconded by Neil Olson. Motion passed. Neil Olson moved that the minutes of the February 2, 1987 meeting be accepted as amended. Seconded by John Quinn. Motion passed. Jack Coogan moved that the minutes of the February 26 meeting be approved. Seconded by John Quinn. Motion passed. The Neiley report was then discussed. The report, over all, was very good. The few questions that were raised are no longer pertinent or can be addressed in the design development phase. Jack Coogan moved that the Neiley report on certification be accepted. Seconded by John Quinn. Motion passed. Jack Coogan then moved that the Commission employ Tappe and Associates for the initial design development phase of the building plan for up to $68,500. Seconded by John Quinn. Motion passed. Notification will be sent to Tappe with a request for a draft contract. Letters will be sent to the mayor asking permission to sign a contract with A. Anthony Tappe and Associates and also to Robert Neiley Associates thanking them for the work done on the certification. The upcoming budget hearing on June 9th was discussed. Meeting adjourned at 7:34 PM.
