Chairperson Gardner calls the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Acceptance of Meeting Minutes
Tracey:
motion to accept the March 5, 2002 public presentation meeting minutes as
written, seconded by Raymond. All members in favor, no one in
opposition. Motion carries.
Skrabut:
motion to accept the March 5,2002 meeting minutes as written, seconded

Dunn:
motion to accept the March 21, 2002 meeting minutes as amended,
seconded by Skrabut. All members in favor, no one in opposition. Motion
carnes.
Old Business
Finalizing the Action Plan 2002
Gardner states that he has provided a "comparison copy" of the Draft Action Plan for
members to review.
Gardner states the committee has received a IS-page letter from Rosemary Maglio
providing comments pertaining to the Open Space and Recreation Plan.

Skrabut:
motion to accept the Action Plan, with the addition of Rosemary Maglio's
comments and edits by Hurlburt and Gardner, seconded by Squibb. All
members in favor. Motion carries.
Earth Day Planning
Earth Day activities are planned to take place on April 20, 2002 commencing at 9:00 a.m.
Skrabut states that there are two activities currently planned:
1. A walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Ober Park and ending at Waterfront Park.
2. Vernal Pool Walk (1:00 p.m.).
3. Audiovisual presentation.
Modugno states she will publicize the event in the North Shore Calendar section of the
Sunday Globe, Salem Evening News, the Citizen, Cablevision, WESX radio station, small
businesses and perhaps the schools. Gardner asks if Modugno could prepare a flyer and
Email it to the committee members.
Other Business
Scott Houseman from the Zoning Board of Appeals states that the ZBA received an
application for a 9S-foot high cell tower to be located on the Endicott College campus.
There is going to be a 4-foot meteorological balloon flying on April 6, 2002 from 10:00
a.m. to 2 p.m. to determine how much visual impact a cell tower located there will have.
He asks if the committee know if there are pathways or walkways back there that might be
impacted by the location of the tower. The ZBA hearing is scheduled to take place on
April 23, 2002 and Houseman welcomes input from members of the committee.
Gardner urges members of the committee to view the meteorological balloon, attend the
ZBA meeting or Email Deb HurIburt with comments.
Trails and Trail Map Update
Tracey states she has reduced the trail map to two double-sided 11 x 17 sheets of paper.
She is working on getting more details on the map. She states that Robert Buchsbaum has
an organization willing to donate $100 towards making copies of the map.
Signage - Streets and Woodlands
Dunn provides an update regarding signage. She provides examples of signs, which are
available in metal of plastic. The "trail blazing" activity could be a project for the Boy
Scouts or another organization.

Mission Statement
Kathern Tracey will Email the Draft Mission Statement to committee members so they
may discuss at the next meeting.
Fundraising
The members discuss possibilities for fundraising. Modugno will speak with Robert
Buchsbaum regarding the conversancy and the topic of fundraising will be on next
month's agenda for further discussion.
