MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 9, 2006

PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, Duval, Lydon, Mahoney, Nelson,
Tognazzi, Trask, Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioner Simpson

A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman White called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Presentations:
??Edwards & Kelcey Update – Craig Schuster updated the
commission on the 90% RW 34 Extension Plan Submission.
??Hangar #4 Development – Frank Elliott
2. Reading of the Minutes for December 2005 – Chairman White called for a
reading of the minutes from the December meeting. Commissioner Lydon
made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner
Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report – Chairman White presented the financial
report for December 2005. Commissioner Nelson made a motion to accept
the financial report subject to audit, seconded by Vice Chairman Barnico.
Motion passed unanimously.
B. OLD BUSINESS
Subcommittee Reports:

Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee – Commissioner Mahoney updated
the commission on the three interested Hangar #4 development
proponents.

Facility Maintenance Subcommittee – Commissioner Tognazzi updated the
commission on a proposed drawing that shows proposed airport
improvements on the East Side e.g. landscaping and a reviewing stand.

Marketing Subcommittee – Commissioner Trask discussed some basic
marketing ideas for marketing BVY and he discussed the proposed BVY
Aviation Day.
??
Land Use Subcommittee – Commissioner Vitale discussed land use at BVY
and about having E&K prepare a map that would be useful when
considering proposed airport development.
C. NEW BUSINESS
Beverly Airport Commission Election of Officers – Paul Vitale was elected
Chairman and Bill Mahoney was elected Vice Chairman of the Beverly Airport
Commission.
D. AIRPORT MANAGER’S REPORT
Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the commission on the traffic count, landing
fees, scheduled MALS repair, proposed House and Senate bills, FAA planned
decommissioning of BVY NDB approach, Town of Danvers proposed jet fuel tax,
and airport maintenance.
E. CHAIRMAN/COMMISSION COMMENTS
1. Commissioner Dettorre requested the FAA be asked to appear at a future BAC
meeting to discuss FAR Part 77 and airport development.
2. Commissioner Dettorre asked the Airport Manager to contact Mark Scott of
Falcon Air, Inc. from Lawrence Municipal Airport who has an interest in T-
hangar development within the West Side infield areas.
3. Commissioner Duval recommended Leo White be officially appointed
Treasurer of the Beverly Airport Commission.
4. The BVY Airport website needs updating. Commissioner Trask and the
Airport Manager will do it.
F. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Duval, seconded by Commissioner
Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
