WAR MEMORIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

The meeting was called to order by Jake Petronzio. George Casey asked about the
situation with the GAR Hall, it was noted that the door is still not fixed in the lower hall.
We will contact Bruce Doig to see if that can be taken care of. Also discussion on the
need for new temporary quarters for the Beverly Veterans Council, VFW, Vietnam
Veterans and Purple Hearts. We will contact Linda Giallongo to see if we can set up a
meeting with the Mayor to discuss some options.
A motion was made to add 2 new members to the War Memorial Advisory Committee,
they were Tim Smith and Chuck Clarke, both are very active in there respective
organizations, Tim with the VFW and Chuck with the Vietnam Veterans. The motion
was seconded and all were in favor. We will send a letter to the Mayor asking for
approval for these appointments.
George Casey asked to speak on Veterans Memorial at Odell Park, We will paint the bell
tower as soon as the weather gets warm, we also need to advise the Mayor that the
handicap walkway still needs to be taken care of especially before Memorial Day. Also
noted the flags all need to be changed and they will be, target time is the first of April.
Also the subject of funding for the War Memorial Advisory Committee, we had $3000.00
in the budget last year and are hoping that it will be returned into this years budget. Jerry
Guilebbe said the money is part of the Veterans Budget and this more than likely will
have to be discussed with the Mayor and John Dunn.
