2004- 12.-02 City of Beverly, Massachusetts Public Meeting Minutes BOARD: Design Review Board DATE: December 2, 2004 PLACE: Beverly City Hall BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Leah Zambernardi, Colleen Bruce, Douglas Haring MEMBERS ABSENT: William Finch OTHERS PRESENT: RECORDER: Diane Presutti Ms. Zambernardi called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 1. Cassis Bakery – David Tsypkin/261-263 Cabot Street/Awning Sign Mr. Tsypkin approached the Board with a design for an awning sign for the Cassis Bakery and A New Leaf stores. He states that this building has two separate entrances and he wishes to install one awning over both entrances. Ms. Bruce explained that the second line is not allowed according to the City’s Zoning Ordinance and confirmed that the second lines of verbiage will be eliminated. Mr. Haring motions to accept the design so long as the lettering is 6” in height and is on one line only. Motion seconded by Ms. Bruce, motion carries 3-0. 2. Airport Mini Storage – Tom Ford/LP Henderson Drive/Site Plan Review Mr. Ford approaches the Board with revised plans for the mini storage complex. He begins to explain that the office and attendant’s apartment is at the wrong end of the building and will be located at the end farthest from the airport. He also explains that this location is more accessible to the public and the other storage buildings. The building will have blue trim and there will be a separate apartment entrance. He also states that there will be cherry blossoms and forsythia planted along the building. The lighting will be face down and half of the lights will be off in the evening. He is not sure whether he will conduct business in the evening yet. Mr. Haring asks that he fax exact pms colors to Ms. Zambernardi and motions to accept as noted, seconded by Ms. Bruce. Motion carries 3-0. 3. Julianne’s Handbags – Denise Severino/125 Cabot Street/Sign Ms. Zambernardi states that there is not a representative present this evening and asks the other Board members to table any discussion. She also states that upon reviewing the Design Review Board December 2, 2004 Page 2 of 2 application there wasn’t enough information to accept it. The other Board members agree. 4. Minutes of November 4, 2004 Mr. Haring motions to accept the Minutes of November 4, 2004, seconded by Ms. Bruce. Motion carries 3-0. 5. Other Business Prior to adjourning the Board spoke briefly about sandwich boards, newspaper stands and other sidewalk clutter. Ms. Zambernardi stated that Mr. Nelson would receive a list of offenders.
