Recap on Community Pride Day
The committee received positive feedback from the public.
Outstanding items to complete
Painting and decorating of Council Chamber and Committee Room. Interior Decorator,
Tracy Karatsu. is consulting on the project and Mike Tracchia's crew will perform the
work.
Scheduling a public unveiling in the fall.
Planning the next steps in the City Hall improvement project.
Follow up on removal order for the trees in front of the building and the Blue Spruce.
Completion of the mural in the back hall. Tom Scully has recommended an artist from
the Guild of Beverly Artists who would be interested in this project.
Follow up on traffic island plantings and signage. Requested information has not yet been
distributed to committee members. No changes have been observed by committee
members in plantings or signage.
Shropshire is working with the decorator to finalize window treatments and Todd is
pursuing possible donations from local businesses toward picture framing.
Hurlburt is looking into obtaining brass plates engraved with Councilor's names to attach
to the frames.
Restoration of Washington's portrait is a top priority. Donations are sought to offset the
estimated cost of $3,500. Hurlburt briefed the committee on the history of the portrait.
Approval of minutes
Postponed to next meeting. Quorum needed.
There was discussion concerning low attendance at the Committee meetings. Hurlburt
will send a memo to all members requesting their presence at the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
The next meeting of the Committee will be held on July15, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Committee Room at City Hall.
