Design Consultant Selection
First order of business was discussion on Phase 1 of reconstruction on the carriage house. Tom
Scully said that Building Commission Chairman, Ray Bouchard, has request that Steve Feige (our
Tappe architect) draw up the RFQ for the carriage house roof. The extent of the work on the
next phase ranged from the roof, balustrades, and skylights the specs and blueprints to complete
that phase, to that and the entire building envelope, the area around the entrance, and projected
uses of the facility. A concept is needed for interior use. This would include elevations and floor
plans. A Building Program and Feasibility Study need to be developed.
In the end it was determined that the initial three elements and the bid documents for construction
be included due to financial constraints. The Lynch Trustees have committed $200,000 for that
purpose.
Rich Benevento and Tom Scully will ask the Purchasing Agent if it is possible to amend the
original contract with Tappe to include this work. Bob Griffin said that the preparation of the bid
documents would take 6-8 weeks. If this is possible roof construction could take place this fall.
Phase 2
The rest of the Carriage House, site design and the work not included in Phase 1 would be
included.
MA Historical Commission
Tom Scully will get the particulars on getting the park on the register and what restrictions would
go with this. Deed and usage restrictions as well as material and color selection is involved.
Tree Report by Mike Gaudette
MA Arborists Association may be willing to do a Tree Transportation Day in which equipment is
demonstrated for tree transportation. This usually takes place in late fall or eary spring. He has
found 12 trees at the golf course and will pursue that possibility as well as the Presidential Tree
Foundation. The Association would return to Lynch Park sometime after 2007 for Arbor Day.
