Trees Mike Gaudette gave the following tree report. We would be looking at spring of next year or fall for tree moving by the equipment company. Up to 30 trees could be moved if the trees are within a 4-5 mile radius. The Johnson management team for the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club realizes that the trees planted near the far end of the tennis courts belong to the city. Trees may also be available from Dr. Alt’s former property. Barbara Feenan would pay for another Liberty Elm to be planted at the park. The MA Arborists Association could probably do something at the in 2007 as the next couple of years are planned. Trees with a 4”-8” diameter are preferable. Joan spoke with Phil Klimowicz who said that he may be able to do some plantings in the fall. Mike Gaudette should talk to him about a plan of what should be planted and where. Tom Scully has downloaded the application for inclusion in the MA Historical Society. This is an extensive document that will take some time to complete. Fundraising Nick Zarkades passed around a sign up sheet for the Homecoming Informational tent. Bruce has a 10’ tent that can be used and Tom and Nancy will supply 3 easels for the display panels that Nick is doing as well as a donation can and a clipboard for volunteer sign up. Mike Gaudette will supply a table for the t-shirts, donation can, and copy of the final Master Plan. T-shirts need to be ordered. These would go to everyone who donated $25. He presented a package that he developed for potential corporate sponsors for naming rights for the building and rooms. We need to develop a potential list of donors for this part of the project as well as a donation level for each category and obtain Recreation Commission approval. Bulk mailing has been eliminated as the permit cost is $300 and a minimum number of pieces must be sent at one time. Bruce Doig said that it could be included in the Recreation Department brochure that will go to press in August.
