1684-03-11[Town Meeting March 11, 1684]
11:1:1683/4 At a general town meeting of the inhabitants of the Town Beverly there was
granted to Thomas Gage three acres of land out of the town’s Common near Bald Hill. At the same
town meeting Nathaniel Stone sen. & Nehemiah Grover had granted [illegible] land out of the town’s
[Common]. At the same town meeting there was also granted to Joseph Eaton about half an acre of
land at the corner of Long Hill Swamp near his own land.
March 11, 1684. At a general town meeting legally warned Edward Dodge was chosen
constable for Bass River Ward for the ensuing year and William Livermore was chosen constable for
Mackerel Cove ward for the year ending at the same time.
This likewise is a true copy of what was given in by the within said Peter Woodbury in the
same paper who said it was voted at the within said town meeting as attests.
