1681-12-05[Town Meeting December 5, 1681] At a general town meeting legally warned that 5 of December 1681 it was voted by a general vote that there should be a new meeting house built fifty foot in length and 40 foot in breadth. It was voted that the meeting house abovesaid should be built with timber and the charge of building of it is to be raised by way of rate: th At the same town meeting of December the 5 1681 Mr. John Dodge, Sergeant Hill, Corporal William Raymond, Thomas Woodbury and William Dodge Jr. were chosen a committee to procure and agree with an able workman to build and complete the meeting house above-mentioned and the selectmen are to make a rate or rates to defray the charge.
