At a general town meeting the 14 of November 1681 there was chosen William Raymond to
serve upon the jury trials the next court held at Salem chosen for selectmen at the same time Lieut.
Paul Thorndike, Peter Woodberry, Thomas West, Zachariah Herrick, Henry Herrick.
14:9:1681. It was agreed by the general vote of the town that a new meeting house should
be built.
