At a town meeting the 11 day of the 12:1678 it was agreed that from that time nothing
should be done about the charges about any fortifications made in the town but each man should bear
his own expenses.
At the same town meeting it was agreed upon that there should be a rate made for to raise
money for the carrying on of the charges and prosecuting of the matters in controversy between
Wenham and us at the next General Court.
At the same town meeting it was agreed upon that there should be a rate made for raising of
fifty-seven pounds & ten shillings to defray town charges or debts.

At a town meeting on the 11 of the 12 mo. 1678 it was agreed upon that whereas it is said

in an order at a town meeting on the 5 of November 1678 that if any did fall any trees and not cut
cut up and carry away the tops within one month should forfeit five shillings from henceforth they
shall have one year’s time for the carrying of it away but still the penalty of five shillings doth still
stand good if not carried away that is in a twelvemonth.
