At a general town meeting the 29 of July 1679 Sergeant Peter Woodberry and Robert
Bradford were chosen constables for the present gathering of Mr. Hales maintainance and all other
business of the Constables that is not the proper work and business of the Constables now in being
viz. William Dodge & John Sampson before the expiration of their time which will be about the fifth
of November next: and afterwards the whole work and business of Constables in the town until the
last Tuesday in March next which is agreed upon to be the time for choosing constables annually.
