At a general town meeting the first of the 7 1674 Henry Herrick chosen grand jury man for
the year ensuing.
John West, Williams Dodge jun..and Paul Thorndike chosen Surveyors of Highways for this
year which highways are to be repaired by town rate each inhabitant of the town being to work upon
the said highways at the appointment of the overseers at 24 hours warning or to lose the privilege of
working out their rates the overseers to estimate and rate every man’s work.
It was agreed by general town vote that the selectmen shall make a rate of thirty pound for
repairing highways and defraying other town charge.
