At a general town meeting of the 21 of November 1673 there was chosen for Selectmen to
order the affairs of the town for the ensuing–

Ensign Samuel Corning
Humphrey Woodberry
Lott Conant
Paul Thorndike
At the same town meeting of the 21 of November John West chosen to serve upon the jury
of trials at the next County Court at Salem, likewise to answer the presentment for defect in the
highway between the Chubbs and Joseph Hibbard’s–
At the same meeting it was agreed between the town and John Raymond sen that said
Raymond shall have Joshua Turland another year: and is to find him with meat, drink, clothes and
other necessities suitable for a servant and the town is to allow him forty shillings out of the rate
toward his clothing and the aforesaid Raymond is to leave him at the year’s end forty shillings better
than he was when he came to him--
At the same meeting it was agreed that there shall be a rate of twenty pounds made by the
Selectmen to satisfy the deputy for the town at the General Court: his charge: and for the repairing
of highways in the town--
