1671-03-17[March 17, 1671] th At a meeting the 17 of March 1671, it is granted by vote for women wanting seats to build 3 seats by three windows in the meeting house at their own private charge the selectmen giving their approbation unto them. dlydly 2 That the north gallery shall have seats made up for the youth and 3 that Richard Brackenbury & Samuel Corning sen. Have leave to make a seat at the north end of the pulpit. thly 4 that Mrs. Hale hath liberty to make a seat where she now sits, it not being prejudicial to the rest. Vote - That the selectmen send a writing to the treasurer concerning that rate which he demands of the town to this effect that if legally it be required and we liable to it, we will pay it the next year. Vote - Mr. Conant, Capt. Lathrop, Wm. Dodge sen., John Rayment chosen to view the bounds between us & Salem. Vote - That the proprietors of highways shall be satisfied by such Common lands as may be least prejudicial to the town.
