1671-10-31[October 31, 1671] At a town meeting the 31 October 1671 whereas Josias Roots being formerly legally chosen for Constable & he refusing to serve, its agreed to make choice of another. John Sallows chosen for Constable by votes for this year ensuing. At a town meeting legally warned there are chosen for Selectmen to order the affairs of this town the year ensuing. Captain Thomas LathropJohn Dodge sen. Mr. Roger ConantWm. Rayment Ensign Corning Exercise Conant chosen to serve upon the Jury of Trials at the next County Court to be held at Salem November 28, ‘71. It is also agreed that the Town doth resign upon to William Dodge sen. that the parcel of land formerly bought of him by the Town for the ministry which he accepts & is accordingly to be accountable to the town for what he hath received of them upon that account. It is also agreed and consented unto theat the Selectmen shall take care of William Jones for his support in his weakness & to dispose of Joshua Farland as they shall see cause.
