1670-09-19[September 19, 1670] thth At a general town meeting the 19 of 7 month. It is agreed that the meeting house shall be graunseled the next 2d day to make a beginning & whoever neglects to come having legal notice shall pay £3 per day. Tho. LathropNathanial Stone Wm. Rayment& Robert Hibert Ensign Corning It is also agreed that a rate of thirty pounds be made for the town’s use. John Lovett jun. Chosen Constable for this next year. Lot Conant Chosen for grand jury. William Dodge & Exercise Conant appointed to gather in Mr. Hale’s rate. A pound is to be set up near the [illegible] gate by John Growers [ illegible] a pair of stocks the selectmen are to [illegible] with workmen & [illegible] town-rate. thth It is also agreed this 19 7 mo. that when the selectmen find occasions to a have a town meeting there shall be notice given by writings set upon the public meeting house specifying the time which shall be taken for a legal warning of all the inhabitants of this town 7 mo. 70.
