1670-12-29[December 29, 1670] th At a town meeting this 29 day of December ‘70 it is voted that all those who have been employed in the gathering in any rates formerly made since the first settling Mr. Hale amongst us shall bring in their accounts unto the selectmen at their requiring. th It is also agreed upon and voted this 29 December ‘70 that all whosever shall be employed upon the town’s affairs shall at the end of the term for which they are deputed bring in their accounts unto the Selectmen & have them perfected & so from year to year to remain. It is also agreed that from this time no man shall fall any trees small or great to sell unto other towns from the Commons but he shall pay for every tree £20 unto the informer, one half for himself and the other half for the Town. And Nathaniel Stone, Rice Edwards & Mordecai Larcombe to execute this order. th At the town meeting upon this 29 of December 1670 it is agreed & voted that Robert Hibbert sen. shall have, hold & for himself, his heirs, Executors & Assigns forever possess that tract of land lying within the general fence of the field he taking of from the field the general fence from Mr. Hale’s corner unto Roger Haskell’s corner upon a straight line maintaining the same fence against the Commons forever. Also Exercise Conant is to have Joshua Farland one year; he finding him meat, drink, washing, lodging, clothing sufficient in case he is able to work, otherwise the Town to consider him. It is also ordered that these men deputed to view fences shall see all fences belonging to the th town sufficiently fenced according to law by the 9 of April 1671.
