At a legal meeting of the Inhabitants of the Town of Beverly January 1 1783.
Capt. James Lovett was chosen Moderator.
Voted to choose two Wardens and Lieut. Samuel Cole and Lieut. Peter Shaw was chosen to serve
in the office of a Warden.
Voted that it is the mind of this Town that the Supreme Courts of Judicature, Courts of Common
Pleas and General Sessions of the Peace be still holden in the County of Essex in the same
places they now are and have been holden in said County for a number of years past.
