1783-04-07[Town Meeting April 7, 1783]
At a Legal Meeting of the Inhabitants of the Town of Beverly April 7, 1783 George Cabot, Esq. was
chosen moderator.
Voted that the Town will refer the article of raising of money to the next annual May meeting and
that their Town Treasurer be directed to call upon all the Constables that have outstanding taxes to
collect and pay in the same as soon as may be. Informing them of the great necessity that there is of
said monies being paid in for the discharging of the executions out against the Town and the said
Treasurer is directed to pay lawful interest for the money that the executions are out against the town
for until the said money is paid.
