1783-04-07 Election results[Town Meeting April 7, 1783] At a legal Meeting of the male persons of twenty-one years of age belonging to the Town of Beverly that were qualified agreeable to the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to vote for a Governor, Lieut. Governor and persons for Senators and Counselors on Monday the seventh day of April 1783. The Selectmen presided at said meeting and the votes received for a Governor, Lieut. Governor For Hon. Thomas Cushing, Esq.20 For Benjamin Lincoln Esq.1 Votes received for Senators and Counselors For Hon. Stephen Choate, Esq.24 For Hon. Jonathan Greenleaf, Esq.22 For Hon.
