At a Legal Meeting of the Inhabitants of the Town of Beverly Octr. 28 1782.
Capt. Robert Standley and Dea. Robert Roundy was chosen to serve on the Grand Jury at the
Supreme Judicial Court to be holden at Salem on the first Tuesday of November next and Jonathan
Conant, Francis Smith, Samuel Conant and John Woodberry were chosen to serve on the Petit Jury
at said court.

Col. Larkin Thorndike was chosen Moderator.
Voted that the Town at this time will do nothing further relative to Capt. Eleazar Giles affairs.
Voted that it be recommended to the Inhabitants of this Town to inspect and detect all illicit trade
with Great Britain and do all in their power that the laws of this Commonwealth be carried
into execution relative to said trade.
It was put to vote to see if it was the mind of the Town that the Selectmen should continue to have
a Grammar School Master and it passed in the negative.
