At a legal meeting of the Inhabitants of the Town of Beverly Sept. 3 1782.
Col. Larkin Thorndike was chosen Moderator.
Voted that Capt. Eleazar Giles’ petition be dismissed.
Voted that Capt. James Lovett be their agent in behalf of the Town to appear at court or subtle with
Capt. Eleazar Giles and William Ayers relative to the money the town oweth them in the best
way and manner they can.
Voted that their Town Treasurer be and is hereby ordered and directed immediately to issue out his
execution against all the delinquent Constables for the years 1780 & 1781 for the purpose of
enabling him to defray the Town debts etc.
