1777-05-26th At the Legal Town Meeting of the Inhabitants of the Town of Beverly May the 26 1777, Mr. Richard Leech was chosen Moderator. Voted that the Town will give their consent to one or more houses in such place or places in this town as shall be thought safe and proper may be occupied for the benefit of inoculation. Voted to choose a committee to consist of five persons to transact the affairs of inoculation under the inspection of the Selectmen. Voted that Capt. William Bartlett, Capt. Nathan Leech, Capt. Livermore Whittridge, Mr. John Dyson & Mr. John Hale be the above said committee. Voted that the Town give their consent that the houses of Mr. William & Israel Green or any other houses that the Selectmen shall approve of, excepting those on the seacoast, should be appropriated for the benefit of said inoculation.
