1775-06-05 PerambulationThe perambulation between Wenham and Beverly returned as followeth viz.. We, the Subscribers, being appointed by the Selectmen of Wenham and Beverly and the County of Essex to perambulate on the line and renew the boundary between said towns have accordingly met this fifth day of June 1775 and beginning at the white oak tree standing in the wall between the land of Isaac Giddings & Cornelius Baker marked W. B. & D. and from thence on a straight course South seventy-one degrees in thirty miles east to aid bounds Josiah Herrick’s orchard which is a stone said in the ground marked W. B. and from thence South eighty degrees and thirty miles east to a bounds called Alford’s Stone on stump marked W. B. thence to the corner of the wall on the east side of the country road three feet and ½ Southerly of an apple tree standing to the Northward of Freeborn Balch’s house formerly Mr. John Dodge’s marked W. B. thence to a stake and stones in Peter Woodberry’s land three foot and a half to the Northward of a poplar stump marked W. B. thence to a heap of stones on or by the wall on the Southerly side of the highway a few rods to the Eastward of the Barn belonging to the heirs of Amos Dodge, deceased, and one rod northerly of an apple tree W. B. thence to a stake and heap of stones marked W. B. near Larcom’s corner so-called thence to a heap of stones on the easterly side of Longham Meadow thence to a stake and heap of stones on the easterly side of Raccoons Marsh so-called thence to a white oak stump late a tree Nathaniel Dodge’s wall marked W. B. thence turning North easterly to a white oak tree with stones about it on Gravelly Ridge marked W. B. thence more easterly to a stump in Presson’s Corner three feet southwesterly of a walnut tree marked W. B. thence to a stake and stones in a straight line from Presson’s Corner to a pine tree marked W. B. which is a bound between Manchester, Wenham and Beverly in confirmation whereof we have hereunto set our hands.
