Essex, ss:
To one of the Constables of the town of Beverly. - Greeting.
You are hereby required in the name of said Commonwealth, to notify and
warn in the usual manner, the qualified voters of said town to meet at the Town Hall, on Tuesday the
Sixth day of November next at Nine o’clock A.M.
To see if the town will choose one or more Representatives to the next General Court, and if they so
decide to give in their ballots for the purpose of choosing the same.
Also, To give in their ballots for a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary, Treasurer and Receiver
General, Auditor of Accounts, and Attorney General of this Commonwealth, for County Treasurer,
County Commissioner, and Register of Deeds, of the County of Essex, and for Senators for the
District of Essex, for the ensuing political year.
The ballots for said officers will be received on one piece of paper, and the poll will be opened
immediately after deciding upon the Representatives, and close at Four o’clock P.M. unless otherwise
decided by the meeting.
Hereof fail not but make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon before said time.

Fifty Five.

Beverly November 5, 1855. Pursuant to the foregoing warrant I have notified the persons
therein named, by posting notices according to the Town Regulations, at or near each of the public
meeting houses in town.

At a legal meeting of the qualified voters of the town of Beverly, held at the Town Hall on Tuesday
the 6th day of November, A.D. 1855, at Nine o’clock A.M. pursuant to the foregoing warrant.
Voted. That the poll be closed at four o’clock.
Voted. That the Town proceed to elect two Representatives to the next General Court.
The electors then proceeded to give in their ballots for Representatives, State and County officers,
and upon closing the polls the votes for Representatives were sorted, counted and the results
ascertained according to law to be as follows. -
