1855-10-20Commonwealth of Massachusetts Essex, ss: To one of the Constables of the town of Beverly. Greeting. You are hereby required and directed to notify and warn in the usual manner the qualified voters of said Town to meet and assemble at the Town Hall on Saturday the twentieth day of October instant One o’clock afternoon for the following purposes. 1st. To decide the manner of choosing a Moderator and to choose the same. 2d. To see if the town will accept and allow the laying out of the private way leading from Ober Street, over lands of G. S. Millett and family and John A. Lowell, for the use of one or more of the inhabitants of said Town, according to the report of the Selectmen now on file in the Town Clerk’s office. Hereof fail not but make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon before said time. Given under our hands and seal this thirteenth day of October Eighteen Hundred and Fifty Five. At a legal meeting of the qualified voters of the town of Beverly held in pursuance to the above warrant of the Town Hall on Saturday the twentieth day of October in the Year Eighteen Hundred Fifty Five at one o’clock afternoon - Voted. To choose Moderator by hand vote, & Lawson Walker was thus chosen. Voted. That the report named in the second article of the warrant be indefinitely postponed. Voted.
