1867-11-05 Election Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Essex, ss. To one of the Constables of the town of Beverly. Greeting.
You are hereby required, in the name of said Commonwealth to notify and warn in the usual
manner, the qualified voters of said town, to meet at the Town Hall on Tuesday the fifth day of
November next at nine o'clock before noon, for the following purposes viz:-
To give in their votes by ballot, for a Governor, Lieutenant Governor,
Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and Attorney General, of the Commonwealth, a Councillor for District
Number Two, a County Commissioner, County Treasurer, and Register of Deeds for the County of
Essex, a Senator for the Fifth Senatorial District, and Two Representatives in the General Court for
the Tenth Representative District of the County of Essex.
The ballots for all the above officers will be received on one piece of paper,
and the polls will be closed at four o'clock P.M. unless otherwise determined by the meeting.
Hereof fall not, but make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon
before the time appointed for said meeting.
Given under our hands and seal this twenty-sixth day of October in the year
Eighteen Hundred and sixty-seven.

therein named as therein directed by posting notices of the time, place and purposes of said meeting
at war near each of the public meeting houses, and at other places in town according to the Town
Regulations.

Commonwealth of Massachusetts
At a legal meeting of the Inhabitants of the town of Beverly, in the County of Essex, qualified as by
the Constitution is required, to vote for civil officers holden on the Tuesday next after the first
Monday in November being the fifth day of said month in the year one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-seven, for the purpose of giving in their votes for a Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary,
Treasurer & Receiver General, Auditor and Attorney General of said Commonwealth, and a
Councillor for District Two, a County Commissioner, County Treasurer, and Register of Deeds for
the County of Essex, a Senator for the Fifth Senatorial District, and Two Representatives in the
General Court for the Tenth Representative District of the County of Essex.
All ballots given in therefor were sorted, counted, and recorded and declaration thereof made, as by
the Constitution is directed, and were for the following persons, namely:
