1871-11-08 Election resultsCommonwealth of Massachusetts At a meeting of the Town Clerks of Manchester, Beverly, and Hamilton, said towns comprising the Tenth Representative District of the County of Essex, held at the office of the Town Clerk in Beverly, on Wednesday the Eighth day of November in the year Eighteen hundred and seventy-one, at Twelve o’clock noon, to examine and compare the transcripts of the records of votes in said towns for Two Representatives in the General Court for said District, said transcripts were examined and compared and the votes for Representatives were for the following persons. Freeborn W. Cressy of Beverly three hundred eighty-six votes. Nathan H. Webb of Beverly three hundred twenty-four votes. John B. Hill of Beverly two hundred fifty-one votes D. L. Bingham of Manchester one hundred sixty-nine votes. George B. Goodwin of Beverly one hundred sixty-two votes Francis J. Crowell of Beverly one hundred sixty-one votes. William D. Crosfield of Beverly twenty-one votes. Freeman Cressy of Beverly nine votes. William F. Davis of Beverly five votes. John I. Baker of Beverly three votes. E. S. Foster of Beverly one vote. Albert Perry of Beverly one vote. B. E. Burchted of Beverly one vote. Deb Tuck of Beverly one vote. Thomas Leach of Manchester one vote. And Freeborn W. Cressy of Beverly, and Nathan H. Webb of Beverly, having the highest number of votes were declared elected, and certificates of their election were duly issued according to law. John Lee, Town Clerk of Manchester.
