1690-06-13[Selectmen, June 13, 1690] th At a meeting of ye Selectmen on ye 13 day of June 1600 [i.e. 1690]: Deacon Hill brought in an account of money disbursed from time to time by himself for the use of our Town of Beverly and approved of by said selectmen amounting to 00lb-15s-10d. And for keeping of Joshua Turlin & some clothes that said Turlin had of said Hill which is likewise approved. 00-06-00. At the same meeting of ye selectmen Henry Herrick brought in an account of money disbursed & moneys worth from time to time for the use of ye Town: said account being approved of by said selectmen amounting to 10s. And for keeping of Joshua Turlin 3 weeks & finding of said Turlin some clothing 12s. Amounting unto in ye whole 01-02-00 the 6:3:1692 Paid of the 2 lb three shillings and 6. Paid the same meeting of ye Selectmen Deacon Peter Woodberry brought in an account of several disbursements in money, for keeping of Joshua Turlin : 8s: in money or 12 in pay: & A bushel of Indian corn as money: 15d: In pay 18d: ye rest in money out of his pocket 02-15-03. Allowed of by ye selectmen ye 2 bushels of corn Hasadiah Smith had. At ye same meeting of ye selectmen Lieut. Exercise Conant brought in an account for keeping Joshua Turlin a fortnight & other trouble about said Turlin being approved of by said selectmen amounted to allowed by said selectmen to said Conant 00-08-00. At ye same meeting of ye said selectmen Lieut. William Dodge maltster brought in an account of several debts due unto him ye said Dodge from ye Town amounting to 07li-19s-00 & 01lb-10s-00d in money & ye rest in pay & it was approved of & allowed by said selectmen. At which time he said Lieut. William Dodge next abovesaid did acknowledge the receipt of three pounds that he had received of William Elliott said Elliott being then Constable and part of pay of ye part in ye next above account. At the same meeting of the Selectmen Deacon Peter Woodberry brought in an account of five- days service for the Town at Boston as a representative and it was allowed and approved of by ye Selectmen in money 00-13-06. At the same meeting of ye Selectmen Andrew Elliott brought in an account unto said selectmen for keeping Joshua Turlin & for a coat & waistcoat or & other trouble about said Turlin and said selectmen allowed said Elliott 00-08-00 and for 3 quiers of paper for the use of the town in money 00-01-06. The above said paper was paid for by Thomas Woodberry Selectmen and ye are 1690. Due unto Isaac Stearns of Salem glazier for mending our meeting house window in year ’ 88 the sum of 01-02-06 in money as ye remainder of a debt of 3lb the next above account due unto the abovesaid Stearns was paid by Thomas Woodberry senior out of the Town’s money same time in March in ye year ’ 90-‘91 said Woodberry being Selectmen. At ye same meeting of ye selectmen Henry Herrick allowed John Delands rate by an order to William Elliott, said Elliott being then Constable which rate was 00–02-06. At ye same Selectmen’s meeting Deacon John Hill had an order to Samuel Morgan, said Morgan being then Constable, to allow said Hill’s town rate which was six shillings in pay & eight pence and three shillings & four pence in money this record annihilated.
