1689-11-29[Selectmen November 29, 1689] A Covenant betwixt the Selectmen of Beverly and William Bath of the town of Beverly. That the abovesaid Selectmen hath covenanted, bargained and agreed with said William Bath: (the former covenant betwixt the said Selectmen and John Ellinwood being void and of no force] to pay unto abovesaid Wm. Bath to full and just some of ten pounds upon demand, first payment to be paid in merchant’s goods within one week after the date hereof and the other half in malt and Indian corn sometime before the year be expired. That the abovesaid Wm. Bath is to maintain Joshua Turner in clothes, diet, washing and lodging the full-time and term of a whole twelve month after ye date th hereof.
