At a meeting of the Selectmen on ye 5 day of February 1705–6, was an order drawn upon John
Ober, Constable of Beverly, to pay unto Edmund Gale ten shillings of the town rate now in his hands,
which was allowed to said Gale upon consideration of said Gale’s being rated 10 s. for his man Bates,
his head, who is taken from his said master for his misdemeanors by ye law.

At a meeting of the tax Selectmen on ye 5 February, 1705-6, Jonathan Raymond brought the
following receipt, viz.:

November ye 29, 1704.
Received of Mr. Jonathan Raymond the sum of eight pounds, the contents of this bill, I say received
in full the contents of this bill, said money being paid out of the town rate.

At a meeting of ye Selectmen on ye 5 February 1705-6, Jonathan Raymond, Constable of Beverly
for ye year 1703, brought several receipts for money paid by him out of ye town rate and said
Raymond’s hands, to several persons per order of the Selectmen in ye year 1703, said sum amounting
to nine pounds six shillings.

At a meeting of the Selectmen on ye 5 of February 1705-6, was an order drawn upon Constable
John Ober, to pay unto deacon Samuel Balch four pounds out of the town rate now in his hands; and
also at ye same meeting was an order drawn upon Constable Andrew Dodge, to pay unto deacon
Samuel Balch five pounds, out of ye town rate now in said Dodge’s hands.

At a meeting of ye Selectmen on ye 5 day of February 1705-6, reckoned with Jonathan Raymond,
one of ye Constables of Beverly for ye year 1703, for all rates committed to him to collect viz.: the
province rates, minister’s rates, town rate and county rate, and said Raymond is hereby discharged
of them all.
