At a meeting of the Selectmen in November the 1st, 1706, was several measures and weights which
are standards for our town of Beverly, delivered unto Joseph Morgan, Clerk of the Market, viz.: ten
brass weights from four pounds to one quarter of an ounce & one half bushel, one peck, one half
peck, one pair of brass scales with a steel beam & two [illegible] one half pint, and [illegible] quart,
and one wine quart, and one wine pint, and one ale pint, and one yard, and one ell, which said clerk
had in his hands before.
