12:11:’02. At the same meeting of the Selectmen Ensign Corning produced a bill or receipt
under Nicholas Potter’s hand for money or pay that he dispersed unto said Potter for building of the
chimney of the house that Mr. Hale now lives in of which there remains due unto said Corning from
the town the just sum of three and thirty shillings and six pence and twenty and six shillings due from
the town for shingling the Meetinghouse the whole is 2 £: 19s. At the same meeting of the Selectmen
Sergeant John Hill gave an account of 10s. and money which he received of Constable Livermore
which money was paid unto Sergeant Conant for his service at General Court and 6s. of Sergeant
Woodberry. Likewise of the Town’s money. At the same meeting of the Selectmen Samuel Corning
sen. bought and bargained with the said Selectmen for the now old Meetinghouse standing in Beverly
with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging except the pulpit which doth remain the town of
Beverly’s and to there dispose and the said Samuel Corning is to pay unto the town of Beverly or
their assigns the full and just sum of seven pound and ten shillings for and in consideration of said
house. The said house to be removed at or before the last of April next meeting.
