At a meeting of the Selectmen the 12 of November 1688, there were chosen for Surveyors
of Highways for one year next ensuing the date hereof Richard Woodbury, William Raymond junr.,
Thomas Woodberry junr. viz. Richard Woodberry his proportion from the ferry to the meeting house
and so along the outlet highway as far as is necessary for repairing of Country and town highways,
William Raymond his proportion from the meeting house to Wenham and any other highways or
bridges to the westward of said road that belongeth to cook our town to repair, Thomas Woodberry
his proportion from the meeting house to Manchester for repairing of Country and Town highways.
