At a meeting of the Selectmen the 30 of 1 mo. 1685 Ensign Corning gave an account of so
much plank boards and timber delivered to the workmen for building a place: for ammunition for ye
town’s use as amounts to ten shillings. At the same meeting of the Selectmen then reckoned with
Capt. William Raymond for two weeks service at General Court in ye year ’85 at eighteen shillings
per week the which together with1 £: 8s.formally due to said Raymond as appears by record ye 1:7:
‘84 amounts to three & four shillings all the which sum is now fully paid only the Town Remains
three shillings in ye said Raymond’s debt.
At the same meeting of the Selectmen then paid to Joseph Bisson the sum of forty shillings
in money by Jonathan Boyles out of the rate made for building ye new meetinghouse & this completes
all the rates from the Constable Boyles referring to the meetinghouse rates. At the same meeting of
the Selectmen Edward Dodge produced a receipt as followeth:
Received of Edward Dodge per order of the Selectmen for the quarter begun last November
the sum of eight pounds at twice cash.

At the same meeting of the Selectmen William Livermore brought the receipt that followeth:
These may signify that William Livermore half and twice paid mean cash the sum of 8 lbs. For
the quarter begun you beginning of last November.

At the same meeting of the Selectmen then paid to Serg. Exercise Conant the sum of forty
shillings in pay for money due to said Conant for service at General Court in ye years ‘83: ‘84: At ye
same meeting of the Selectmen there was a rate made for Mr. Hale his maintenance amounting in the
whole to 57 £: 14s.: 6d. Constable Isaac Woodberry his part 27 £: 00s.: 6d. Constable David Perkins
his part 30 £: 14s.: 0d. Ordered to pay Mr. Hale 48 - 00 - 00 in equal proportions 48 £.
Received of David Perkins on account of 3quarters rates [illegible] pounds & five pence this
29:9:1685.
Per me John Hale.
Received of David Perkins fourteen shillings in cash: received of David Perkins in full of said
rates.
