1684-07-01[Selectmen July 1, 1684] 1:7: ‘84. At a meeting of the Selectmen then reckoned with Capt. Will. Raymond who gave in an account of 3: week service as deputy at October court ‘83: at 18s.: per week of which he acknowledged the receipt of 1 £. of constable John Giles and 6s.: by Corporal Thomas West and so there remains due unto said Raymond 1 £: 8s. in money. 1:7: ‘84. At a meeting of the selectmen it was then agreed with Andrew Elliott sen. & Samuel Hardie to transcribe all that is necessary to be transcribed out of the old town book into ye new one within two months after ye date hereof and that when the work is completed then the selectmen shall in ye town’s behalf pay to said Andrew Elliott ten shillings in money & unto said Samuel Hardie five shillings in money besides ten already paid him on ye same account. The debt in ye other side due unto maltster Dodge said Dodge acknowledged to be paid at a meeting of the Selectmen the 18 day of November 1690.
