1684-06-17[Selectmen June 17, 1684] 17:4:16 are talking him to my him for 84. At a meeting of the Selectmen at the House of Corporal Thomas West there was the one moiety of a half country rate made: & committed to be gathered by Constable Edward Dodge amounting to 7 £: 2s.: 3d. in money 4 £: of it to be paid into th the county treasurer by the 15 day of August next ensuing the date thereof and the overplus being 3 £: 2s.: 3d. to be paid into the Selectmen to buy ammunition and to defray other necessary charges for the use of the town. At the same meeting of the Selectmen there was the one moiety of a half country rate made & committed unto Constable William Livermore amounting to eight pounds eight th shillings & four pence four pounds of it to be paid into the county treasurer by the 15 day of August next ensuing the date thereof and the overplus being four pounds eight shillings and four pence to be paid into the Selectmen to purchase ammunition for the use of the town & to defray other necessary charges.
