1681-03-24[Selectmen March 24, 1681] st At a meeting of the Selectmen 24: 1 mo. 1681 and then did make choice of John Swarton & Nehemiah Grover to be surveyors of the general fences for this year that they be sufficiently made up by the 10 of April and so to be kept up until the 16 of October. At the same meeting Isaac Hull sen. & Mordecai Larcom and Joseph Morgan was chosen to be surveyors of the highways belonging to our town both town and country: the said Mordecai Larcom’s part is from Manchester to the west side of the new bridge near cedar stand and Joseph Morgan from that to the Ferry and so the outlet way and up to the great gate by Goodman Elliott’s & from thence Goodman Hull is to take his part so far as the town is concerned in town & country highways. And as concerning swine, the same order that was made the last year and Jonathan Boyles is chosen to execute the order and to have six pence per head for his pains for all such swine that runs upon the commons not according to the order.
