1679-01-28[Selectmen January 28,1679] th At a meeting of the selectmen the 28 11:1678 Samuel Balch, Constable did make up his accounts for the country and town rates and there remained due unto one pound eleven shillings and three pence. The said rates were made in the year 1677, the second day of July. At the same meeting of the selectmen Thomas West Constable made up his accounts for the country and town rates made the second eight July in the year 1677 & there remained due unto the said West 10 pounds 16 shillings & three pence. At the same time and meeting of the selectmen John Black, Constable made up his accounts for the country and town rates and minister’s rate made in the years 1677 & 78 and there remained due unto the town from the said Black seven pounds nine shillings & eleven pence. Paid unto Thomas West at the same time by Constable Black ten shillings & six pence of the above said debt £10: 16s: 3d. and paid unto Seriant Hill by Constable Black at the same time £3: 2s. in money. At the same meeting of the selectmen David Perkins reckoned with them for work for the town and there was due unto him eleven shillings & ten pence; paid of the above debt by Constable Simpson £2. At the same time paid unto Thomas West more by Constable William Dodge for his rates, two pounds thirteen shillings.
