18:1:79 At a meeting of the Selectmen the gentlemen chosen by the town the: 5 of 9
month: 78 to lay out town highways and to take survey of bounds belonging to particular men and
to make return to the Selectmen that the highways & bounds might be recorded and ratified for the
avoiding of future trouble and inconvenience have made their return as followeth
ly
1 A drift highway on the west side of Isaac Woodberry’s barn the way being two pole wide
and to run along by the said Woodberry’s fence and so unto Snake Hill and from the south side of
Snake Hill unto the brook that runs from Thomas Patch’s unto Nicholas Woodberry’s mill.

2 At the same meetng a cart highway from the waters side through Goodman
Brackenberry’s farm unto the drift way aforesaid and from thence to the way that runs by the north
side of Bald Hill as the way now goes the said way to be two pole wide.

3 At the same meeting a cart way beginning at the country road near unto the house of
Anthony Wood and so between the land of Edmund Grover and the land of the widow Trask and so
easterly through the land of Robert Hibbard and the land of the children of Roger Haskell now
deceased and from thence to the commons which highway is to be two pole wide.

4 At the same meeting a drift away from the aforesaid Haskell’s children’s thence easterly
unto Bald Hill to wit through John Grover’s lot and through the land of Lieut. Thorndike the said
Highway to be two pole wide.

5 At the same meeting a drift way beginning at the bottom of the lane butting upon the
country road and so between farmer Dodge’s land and the land of Henry Harrick and so unto the
northeast corner of said Dodge’s field and so southerly unto the drift way at the aforesaid children’s
fence which way is to be two pole wide excepting lane that now is Witch lane is to be its breadth.

18:1:1679 At the same meaning of the Selectmen a drift way beginning between John
Dodge’s senior and Rice Edward’s through the said Dodge’s pasture and so southerly into the
common and so through the land of Thomas Baker into the highway by Bald Hill and so through the
land of George Hull into the common which way is to be two pole wide.
At the same meeting a cart way beginning at the country road that comes from Manchester
and so northeast through the land of Capt. Dixie and the land of Richard Thissell and so into the
common which way is to be two pole wide.
