1677-03-09th At a meeting of the selectmen the 9 of March 1676/7 it was ordered that the general fields thth fence shall be sufficiently made up by the 10 of April next and shall be kept up till the 16 of October following and Nathaniel Heywood & John Sampson chosen & appointed Surveyors of Fences for the year ensuing. th March 91676/7 Andrew Elliott & Henry Herrick were chosen Overseers of Highways for the year ensuing. th March the 9 1676/7 it was agreed by the selectmen that the order about swine made the last year shall continue and be of force for the year now ensuing only with this alteration, that hogs shall not be liable to the penalty for not being ringed between the first of December & last of January and John Sampson is appointed to see to the execution of the said order and to have as is there expressed.
