1677-06-25[Selectmen June 25,1677]
At the meeting of the Selectmen 25 of June 1677 in obedience to a law of the honored
General Court they made choice of ten men to inspect their neighbors to prevent as much as may be
private tippling and drunkeness whose names be as followeth

June 25,1677 farmer West & John Dodge sen. appointed by the selectmen to answer the
selectmen’s presentment for not doing their duty according to a law for appointing of persons to
inspect the families of the town for preventing the sin of tippling and drunkeness likewise the said
farmer West & John Dodge sen. appointed by the selectmen this 25 June 1677 to present the persons
above named to the County Court next at Salem to be authorized as the law directs.
