1671-01-23[January 23, 1671] At a meeting of the Selectmen the 23d of January 1671. Present Thomas Lathrop Humphrey Woodberry John West John Rayment Paul Thorndike For the year ‘65 reserved the account of Lieut. Dixsy & Humphrey Woodberry paid to Mr. Hale £65. To Thos. Gardner £30. Rest in Humphrey Woodberry’s hands £6. William Dodge sen. & John Patch paid to Mr. Hale for the year 1666, £70 0S 6D Samuel Corning sen. & Lott Conant paid to Mr. Hale for the year 1668, £70 19S 6D. Paid Thomas Gardner, £1 10S 0D. John West & Benjamin Balch paid Mr. Hale for the year 1669, £70 0S 0D. It is ordered by the selectmen that the country highway from Cedarstand up to the meeting house as far as to the ferry be made sufficient for horse & cart. It is also agreed that the drift way be from henceforth a town highway & to be repaired by the town.
