1674-03-02[Selectmen March 2, 1674]
At a meeting of the Selectmen the 2d of March 1674 is ordered by the said Selectmen that
th
all swine belonging to the town of two months old and upwards shall be sufficiently ringed by the 20
th
of this instant March and are so to continue the whole year and are to be opened by the 10 of April
th
next ensuing and so to continue until the 16 of October next and in defect hereof everyone shall pay
for every one of his swine either unyoked or unringed 12 d. per day for every day’s deficiency and
William Dodge jun..and John Sampson are appointed to see this order duly executed and are to have
the forfeiture expressed in this order for their pains
John Lovett jun. and William Livermore are chosen surveyors of fences to see that all fences
belonging to the town and that comes under the charge of viewers of fences be kept in good repair
as the law requires and it is ordered that all fences belonging to the town be sufficiently made up by
the 3d of April next. Up
