1673-02-20th A meeting of the Selectmen the 20 of February 1673 it was ordered by the said selectmen that the men formally deputed by the town to take knowledge of & if there be occasion to rectify men’s bounds adjoining to the Common by measuring & founding of it anew where bounds are lost and confirming those that cannot be disapproved that men may have their bounds recorded for avoiding of differences & that our Commons may not be infringed by cutting of timber for sale out of the town under pretense of their own land & this to be expediated & perfected and return made to the town by the same men formally deputed as aforesaid. Constable John Lovett sen. ordered to pay out of the town rate for work done upon the highway by William Dodge jun. his order when he was surveyor. th At a meeting of the selectmen the 20 of February 1673 there were chosen for Surveyors for Highways to see the Highways belonging to the town kept in good repair the year ensuing William Dodge jun. and John West.
